Andrzej Mierzwa is the Managing Partner of 21 Concordia, a private equity fund investing in Poland’s mid-caps since 2012. Investors of the Fund include European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, European Investment Fund, International Finance Corporation. The strategic partner is 21 Invest, a French-Italian group with over 1.5 bn EUR under management, led by Alessandro Benetton.

In 1996-2011 Mr Mierzwa was the Managing Partner of Concordia, an investment banking boutique firm. He advised among others Pernod Ricard on acquisition of Wodka Wyborowa’s maker Polmos Poznań, France Telecom on the acquisition of the controlling stake of Telekomunikacja Polska S.A., Polish-French consortium on the acquisition of Żubrówka vodka and Group Santander on the acquisition of PTF consumer finance company. He also has negotiated the sale of HTL-Strefa, a medical lancets manufacturer to EQT, a Swedish private equity fund.

Concordia co-operated with Donaldson, Lufkin, Jenrette, an American investment bank, MC Securities, a British-Swiss investment firm and Banco Espirito Santo Investimenti, a Portuguese investment bank. In 1990-95 Mr Mierzwa was one of the founding partners of London-based Central Europe Trust Co. Ltd, a strategic consultancy chaired by Nigel Lawson and advised corporations such as: British Gypsum, Hutchinson Telecom and Heinz on acquisition opportunities in Central Europe. Advising Poland’s Minister of Privatisation he executed sales of Polish firms to investors such as: Jacobs Suchard, Bahlsen KG, United Biscuits. He also managed the initial public offering of Stalexport S.A. trading and investment conglomerate.

In 1985-90 he worked for Booz Allen & Hamilton, an American strategy consulting firm, in Paris and London. His clients included the Governments of France, Great Britain and New Zealand on assignments in industrial restructuring and privatisations. He also advised France Telecom, US West, RTL, IBM, Digital Equipment Corporation.

He received his MBA from the American Graduate School of International Management in 1987. He also studied international trade economics at the Economics University in Katowice prior to leaving Poland in 1982. Mr
