Graduates Careers

Paweł Urbański (IMBA)

Owner and CEO of INVEN Group

On graduating from the School I took up a post with Central Europe Trust (CET), one of the most dynamic international companies in strategic consultancy. I spent 13 years working at CET and climbing the professional ladder from the post of a Consultant to that of a Partner, while gaining experience of several dozen consultancy projects commissioned by leading Central and Eastern European companies.

I have managed to stay in close touch with the School by conducting classes for students. After six years I went to London, where I completed my PhD degree at the Imperial College, University of London. It has to be admitted that the inspiration and support of the excellent Professors I had met at the School played a major part in the process.

In 2006 I was offered a position on the board of Polish Power Grids (Polskie Sieci Elekroenergetyczne, PSE). During my term as Vice President and subsequently President I attained the goal which had challenged me into the job - that of creating one of the biggest power companies in Central Europe. This is how PGE - Polish Energy Group - was born, now one of the companies with the highest capitalisation listed on the Warsaw Stock Exchange.

Since 2009 I have been the owner and CEO of INVEN Group. The Group develops and invests in renewable energy projects. It is the sector of the power industry which up for the fastest development in Poland.

As I look back at my track record, the time at the School of Business was a turning point which opened new horizons for me. And even though it´s been 16 years, I am still in close touch with the School, with the Professors and with my fellow students.
