We would like to invite you to take part in our Consultancy Field Trip to Warsaw, which will take place between 19th and 23th of April in 18 Polish companies. In the past years, Students of Cass MBA programme have visited Polish, Argentinean, Russian, and Vietnamese companies in Krakow, Gdansk, Buenos Aires, St. Petersburg and Ho Chi Minh City. The experience has been very successful both for the business clients and the students. Cass is now planning to come to Warsaw for the 2nd time, as they believe that the growing market economy of Poland provides an interesting and challenging learning environment for the MBA students.
The hosting companies will benefit by receiving objective consultancy advice in the form of a Consultancy Report prepared by experienced executives coming from many different industries and under the supervision of academics from Cass Business School. The students will benefit by testing on real business examples management theories which they have learnt in the classroom. It will also provide them with a unique opportunity to observe new perspectives of doing business in a different country.
We cover all costs of the visit (hotel, mini-vans, and travel expenses) as well as translators for each group. Polish clients would be expected to host the group of up to 6 students, share information with them and facilitate all necessary contacts depending on the topic of the consultancy. We sign a Confidentiality Agreement with all companies to ensure that no information is shared with third parties and that it is a pure academic exercise between the university and the company.
In order to participate, the hosting company will have to:- Choose the topic of the potential consultancy, which can be linked to any issue of business development. For example, in the past our groups have worked on new marketing strategies, cost-cutting strategies, company re-structuring, new distribution strategies, and new HRM approaches to motivating employees or strategies of entering into new markets.
- From 19th to 23th April, host a group of 5 or 6 MBA students accompanied by a translator. They will come to a chosen company to work and collect data on a chosen topic i.e. conducting interviews with employees, analysing markets, documents etc. The methodology of their work will depend on the topic of the consultancy.
- Designate a person who will be responsible for the group and helping students in collecting data, organising meetings with employees etc.
- Provide a small room in which students will be able to work during their fact-finding week in Warsaw and meet with the employees of the company.
- On Friday, each group of students will provide a short presentation to the Management as a summary of their-fact finding work and provide some preliminary conclusions. This will be elaborated and analysed later on in the written Consultancy Report. It will be sent to you within 5 weeks.
