School organized a lecture „4 secrets of networking” by Mr Grzegorz
Turniak. The first lecture in new academic year took place in WUT Business
School premises on 25th October at 6:00 p.m. |

15 October- Inauguration
|
On 15th October an inaugural ceremony of the new academic year 2006/2007
accompanied with the MBA Graduation Ceremony took place in the Mala Aula of WUT
Main Building .

October 6-8th- Trip session
|  The last lectures of EMBA Strategy Block took place on 6-8th October in a
beautiful hotel in Mazury near Mrągowo. Students were not only studying but also
enjoing the surroundings, rowing and riding the bicycles. |

Ranking MBA Financial Times 2006
| |
Two of our Partner Schools have won the leading position in the Global MBA 2006
ranking published by Financial Times. London Business School was
qualified with the 5th position and HEC School of Management Paris with 22 mark.
HEC managed again to move up 15th places from the 37th place!

The Inauguration Ceremony of Training in Pharmacoeconomics
|
The Inauguration Ceremony of 8th edition of Advanced Management Training in
Pharmacoeconomics, Pharma Marketing and Law took place on 29th September.It was
accompanied with the lecture of Mr Piotr Kula, doctor and businessman, for many
years involved in pharmaceutical sector.

Joint Seminar HEC- WUTBS in Paris
|  EMBA students of our School participated in seminar organized by HEC
Executive Link which took place 29th July 2006 at HEC School of Managemet in
Paris. Among the invited guests were: Professor Jean-Paul Larçon, Senior
Associate Dean for International Development, HEC; Professor Witold Orłowski,
Director of WUTBS and top managers from: Bernard Brunhes International (BPI
Group), Dalkia, Gaz de France Group and Renault. Issues covered during the
roundtable concerned corporate transformation, strategy implementation and main
causes of failure in acquisitions. What’s worth noting is that exchange with
partner schools has become a strong established tradition. A novelty of the
seminar was the Glob Strat computer game, which created the opportunity for the
EMBA students to integrate in multicultural teams and prove their strategic
skills. |

24 June 2006 - Alex Schneck\\\'s Lecture
|  Alex Schneck, newly appointed Finance Director of Procter &
Gamble’s Polish operation, was a guest speaker at Bob Patterson’s
“Management Accounting” seminar for Executive MBA students in June 2006. Alex is
a native of Austria and Britain and began his career with the Gillette firm.
Since the merger with P&G, he has taken on increasing responsibilities
within the new company. P&G is one of the world’s premier consumer firms
with sales in 160 countries supplied by plants in 45 countries. In Poland, there
is a regional plant in Warsaw and a newly constructed flagship plant in Lodz
supplying Gillette products throughout Europe. Alex shared his experiences with
the budgeting process and the “mission critical” capital expenditure decision.
He had many real-world examples of both that brought the week-end’s topic to
life. |
